Liverpool residential property case study
If you’re a keen nature-lover like our client Janet, read on the learn how Japanese knotweed harms other species.
Mare's tail or Marestail (Equisetum arvense), also known as “Horsetail”, is a fast growing and invasive deep rooted weed, not easily eradicated. It spreads rapidly forming a dense carpet that can crowd out less vigorous plants.
The rhizomes can be seen as far deep as 7m and the plant enters a property either through the wind distribution of spores, or more commonly, from the underground spread from a neighbouring property.
Just like Japanese knotweed, Mare's tail will grow from the smallest amount of retained rhizome. This invasive weed can push through tarmac and grow through voids in concrete.
